Lyon Air Museum is located on the west side of John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, and was founded by Major General William Lyon. Martin Aviation, an award-winning jet, turboprop, and piston-powered aircraft repair company founded in 1923 by legendary aviation pioneer Eddie Martin, is located next to the Lyon Air Museum. The Lyon Air Museum show features actual aircraft, unusual vehicles, and related memorabilia, with a focus on World War II, the twentieth century’s defining event. Visitors acquire a greater knowledge of the significant role the United States plays in influencing world history through engaging and thought-provoking exhibitions based on historical scholarship. Group tours
During regular hours of operation, the Lyon Air Museum is staffed with volunteer docents; however, groups of 10 or more must make prior arrangements. This allows us to confirm the nature of the group and assign an appropriate tour guide. Volunteer docents provide tours, which last about an hour but might vary depending on group interest.
