Struggling With Loose Dentures?
Traditional dentures might look like teeth, but they don’t always feel or function like them. If you’ve been dealing with slipping, sore spots, or limitations on what you can eat, you’re not alone. Many patients find themselves frustrated by how often dentures need adjusting or replacing.
The solution? Implant-supported overdentures. At Dentistry At Its Finest in Costa Mesa, we offer secure, reliable overdentures that improve your smile, restore bite function, and give you peace of mind.
What Are Implant-Supported Overdentures?
Overdentures are a modern hybrid between traditional dentures and full dental implants. Instead of resting on your gums, these dentures are anchored in place using 2 to 6 dental implants per arch, giving you a more stable and natural-feeling restoration.
Unlike full fixed bridges, overdentures are removable for cleaning but snap securely onto your implants during the day, so you can eat, laugh, and speak with confidence.

How Do Overdentures Work?
There are two key components to this treatment:
Dental Implants
Titanium posts are surgically placed in your jawbone. These act as the secure foundation for your denture.
Attachment System
Once your gums heal, we fit your dentures with custom connectors (such as locators or bars) that “snap” onto the implants.
This approach gives you a secure denture without adhesives, while also stimulating your jawbone to help prevent bone loss over time.
Benefits of Implant-Supported Overdentures
Patients often tell us this treatment changed their life, and for good reason. Overdentures offer:
- Better retention, no more slipping or clicking while talking or eating
- Easier speech and chewing compared to traditional dentures
- Less irritation and fewer sore spots on your gums
- Reduced bone loss due to implant stimulation
- Lower cost than full arch fixed bridges
- A removable option that still feels secure and natural
Who Is a Candidate for Overdentures?
Overdentures are ideal for patients who:
- Are missing most or all of their teeth in one or both arches
- Want more stability than conventional dentures
- May not have enough bone for full fixed implant bridges
- Are looking for a more affordable alternative to All-on-X solutions
- Prefer the flexibility of a removable denture with added security
Even if you’ve worn dentures for years, you may still be eligible. We’ll evaluate your bone health and oral condition during your consultation.
